9 mile TT...

Due to a gaggle of excuses, the 9 Mile TT is cancelled!

Maybe not cancelled, but postponed. I think that several people were unable to participate in a genuine 9 Mile TT ride for different reasons. We will take this next weekend off from competition as well, resuming events October 7th. The leader board will remain the same... sorry Dad!

Race management is open to suggestions for the October events, which can be emailed to teamsquish@gmail.com. We will be inviting a couple new participants by the name of Alice and Mike "Barracuda" Jotatus... both of whom will have to catch up in the standings! Looking forward to more racing. Hope everyone is doing well.

TS 2.5 Mile Results

Good work to everyone who gave this run a shot! Some folks had epic runs, some folks had epic fails! We have a few pretty solid times… I know I'm impressed with the podium finishers this week. Marcus breaks 8 minute miles and tops out with a sub 5 min pace! Jay looks to have started strong but has some technical difficulties, which keeps him out of the ranks for a 2nd week. Due to lameness and laziness, some of us didn't even get started this week! So, here are the results and the updated point standings…

2.5 Mile Run

1. Marcus - 19:21; 7:45/mile; 188 HRA
2. Brian - 21:18; 8:31/mile; 158 HRA
3. Zac - 21:45; 8:40/mile; n/a
4. Laura - 25:31; 10:13/mile; 180 HRA
5. Maggie - 25:58; 10:09/mile; n/a
6. Cathy - 30:02; 12:01/mile; 167 HRA
7. Mom - Completed - Time Unknown!!
8. Jay - Tech Difficulty - Approx pace = 8:15/mile
9. Ricky - NO RUN
10. Adam - NO RUN

Points

1. Marcus - 6
2. Zac - 5
T-3. Laura - 4
Jay - 4
Ricky − 4
Brian - 4

This week has put a big swing on the point standings. Marcus has climbed with the past two events to grasp the lead. Third place is tight, one point behind Zac in a stand alone 2nd place. Everyone looks to have had a good time. We need to concentrate on getting the heart rate monitors, although Marcus is tearing it up with a high 180's average this week. Tough courses go to Zac and Maggie with over 150 feet of climbing… more than our Colorado runners!

This week… 9 mile TT! Let's strive for 100% participation! Try to take multiple pics of your course, ride, and self portrait! Ride anytime between now and Sunday at midnight for participation points… and Mom, upload your time!

Stay Safe… good week!

1. Ricky Larrimer - 4pts
2. Marcus Taylor - 3pts
2. Laura Taylor - 3pts
2. Zac Larrimer - 3pts
2. Jay Larrimer - 3pts

We still have a one point bonus for the favorite bike picture. We will figure out who the point goes to by counting the commented votes by midnight on Friday. Each participant gets one vote, and may vote for anyone. In the event of a tie, the point will go to Mom! :-)

Had a good time in the saddle. Tight race in Little Rock where 4 riders pounded the same course… which will be dubbed "most difficult" for the week, not to mention the aerodynamic disadvantage of an aerobar mounted Peyton! Laura becomes an outlaw in Shreveport and Marcus is turning green. Hope everyone had a good time… and hope Jay feels good enough to reclaim his podium spot next week. Have a good time and stay safe… and see you at the finish line!

Event: 7 Mile TT

Great job to everyone last week. This week we are going to do a short, fast time trial. Rules are simple, must complete 7 miles as fast as the light, on your huffies! If a turn around is included on your course, you will recieve a one 15 second time spot. Try to use a Heart Rate monitor if available, as we will be using this information later in the race series. Once you complete your course, upload your stats to Garmin Connect, and label your workout "7 mile TT".

Points will be given as follows:

First - 2 pts
Second - 1 pt
Third - 1pt

Bonus Photo Criteria for this week is simple. You must take a picture with you and your bike good for one point, with one extra point going to most creative. Following the posting of the results, a slideshow of photos will be added to the page… the winner will then be decided by the most votes included in the comment section (one vote per participant).

We have decided to open this event to Thursday at 4pm - Sunday at Midnight! Make sure to ride a safe course with little to no traffic. Go hard, go fast… and take a cool pic!

See you at the finish line!

Nice run by Jay! Zac edges out a third place podium spot by one second… despite a primarily downhill course run by me! Just a reminder to push hard through and through, as every second counts!
